Is Salman Khan no longer interested in South remakes?
Sallu miyaan’s recent release Jai Ho which is a remake of Telugu film Stalin hasn’t been able to create dhoom at the ticket windows. Is that the reason why the Dabangg Khan is now done with South remakes?
After working in four south remakes – Wanted, Bodyguard, Ready and Jai Ho, looks like Salman Khan doesn’t want to walk down the same path anymore. We hear when filmmaker Ramesh Taurani recently caught up with the superstar to discuss a project, the Being Human actor straight away said that he wants an original script. As per the media reports, the movie will be directed by Prabhu Dheva and Taurani wants SK to play the lead. Reportedly, Salman will sign on the dotted line only if Ramesh Taurani and his Wanted director offer him something new.
While talking to a tabloid, a source said, “Salman strongly feels that Southern remakes have run their course. Since he shares a good rapport with Taurani, he candidly told him that he would definitely do the film. But he also added that he wants Prabhu Dehva and Taurani to come up with fresh content.”
Now that’s strange coz except for Jai Ho, all other Salman starrer South remakes became blockbusters. But at the same time we are glad that the bhai of Bollywood is being picky about his films.
